I have been riding since I was 4 or 5 but started racing when I was 12, this will be my 3rd year racing. Since starting racing, I have only raced the SoCal League XC races, but earlier this year I began to do different races. I placed on the podium in two out of the three SoCal League races that I competed in. I also placed on podium on the two Rim Nordic XC races that I raced in

I began racing cyclocross in Ohio when I was 12 years old. I have always loved bicycles and my dad is an avid cyclist. I raced in Ohio until my junior year, where I quit racing bikes to become more involved in highschool team sports, but my love of cycling was always present. I moved to California my senior year of highschool and rediscovered my obsession with bikes and racing. Going from a flat place like Ohio to being able to ride world class mountain bike trails right outside of my door has ignited my racing fire like never before. I competed with the Newbury Park mountain bike team for my senior year, placing 1st in the JV1 category and then bumping up to the JV2 category where I had consistent top 10 results. I also raced enduro with team big bear and podiumed in the beginner class. After graduating I could not handle the lack of racing and training, which led me to sign up with Bobby Langin in the fall of 2023. He has taken my skills and training to the next level, and I am currently riding 6 days a week. I am always looking to improve on the bike and do not see myself slowing down any time soon.

I have been riding mountain bikes on and off for over 30 years, but really started to become more consistent in 2007. In 2018 I became a NICA coach for a high school cross country racing team and continued to do so for the next 5 years. I raced two local enduros the next year, placing top 5 in both. I also did the same races in 2020, continuing to result in the top 5. After the pandemic I returned to the same enduro races in 2023, and placed 2nd overall in the Team Big Bear Kenda Cup series in the Master 60+ class. Due to injury I was only able to race two times in 2024, one 1st place at a Team Big Bear Kenda Cup enduro and a 2nd place at the California Enduro Series China Peak enduro. In the 2025 season I plan to race all of the Team Big Bear Kenda Cup Enduro series and majority of the California Enduro Series.

Jonny Franco
Age: 16 Discipline: Enduro
My name is Jonny Franco, I am originally from Israel but moved to the US in 2021. Living in the mountain community in Israel, the mountain bike has been a major part of my life. Moving to the American mtb scene was a harder transition than expected but after meeting the right people I was able to find my rhythm ultimately leading me to join Langtown Racing Academy. My coach says I may have too much energy. I can’t help it, I love riding bikes! Always stoked to be on them, even if it's an interval day. I am looking forward to competing in 2025, building a healthy mind and body for racing and pushing myself further into this sport.

I’m an 18-year-old cyclist with a passion for all forms of cycling. I bring the same high level of dedication to training as I do to academics, maintaining a 4.87 GPA. My journey into bike racing began in 8th grade, and my involvement with a local NICA-affiliated composite mountain bike team deepened my love for the sport.
Racing has taught me perseverance and the importance of maintaining a strong mindset. Beyond the sport itself, the cycling community has created a positive environment where everyone comes together to grow, support each other, and succeed.

Kyle Johnson
Age: 16 Discipline: Enduro
My name is Kyle Johnson. I fell in love with mountain biking at 9 years old and racing at 10. I grew up riding in the Santa Cruz Mountains with my dad. It’s been a huge part of my life and doing it with friends makes it even better. A few years later, we moved to Southern California. Then, I joined Langtown Racing Academy. I competed in many races in the California Enduro Series and did well there. The team atmosphere at the races is amazing! I plan to continue having fun on the trails with my friends, and looking forward to the races

I sincerely believe riding bicycles makes the world a better place. It slows the speed of life to a digestible pace, connecting us to others while thrilling us at the same time. Racing, then, punctuates riding through the spirit of competition, teaching us lessons that only the finish line can. “Fight the good fight, finish the race, keep the faith.” -2 Timothy 4:7

I’ve always enjoyed cycling as one of my favorite activities during my offtime. Growing up I mostly did road biking with my dad and BMX with my neighborhood friends. My favorite aspect of the sport is the places it can take you and adventuring to new scenery. I started racing Enduro in 2024 and it has helped me meet awesome people, discover some amazing trails, and test my skills.

Mia Morris
Age: 17 Discipline: Cross Country, Enduro
My name is Mia Morris, I am a 17 year old senior in high school and I’ve grown up in the state of California, taking full advantage of the beaches, mountains, desert and snow my whole life. Mountain biking from a young age has helped me build self confidence and taught me that even as a woman, I have a place within a male dominated sport. I want to be an example for other girls like me who want to find success in the mountain biking community whether or not it is related to racing. Mountain biking isn’t just a competitive sport to me, it's a lifestyle that provides a community and home. Family and friends are a huge part of my life and I spend a lot of time with the people who are important to me both on and off the bike. As a senior in highschool I am still unsure what the future holds but I know mountain biking will continue to be a huge part of my life.

Sullivan Hartman
Age: 15 Discipline: Enduro, Downhill
I’m a 15-year-old from Thousand Oaks, California, and I’ve been riding bikes for most of my life. For me, it’s always been about having fun and exploring with my friends. When COVID-19 hit, what used to be just a fun way to get out into the wilderness became something more—a sport. Mountain biking became my way of escaping the world, a way to disconnect and ride with my friends.
Over time, it stopped being just a hobby and turned into a lifestyle. After school, I’d hop on my bike right after finishing Zoom classes, riding every day. The more I rode, the better I got.
I entered my first race at 11, not knowing what to expect. Back then, I was more focused on tackling the gnarliest trails in my area. I crashed on the last stage and injured my arm, but I still made it onto the podium. That experience sparked a passion for racing—flying down hills as fast as I could, hoping I was faster than everyone else.

I’ve been racing mountain bikes for less than a year, but I started out as a BMX racer and did that for about four years at the national level. Around November of last year, I became really interested in mountain biking and decided to join the Newbury Park Mountain Bike Team.
During the cross-country season, I podiumed in all my races. While I’ve been focused on cross-country, I recently developed an interest in enduro racing as well. This season, I’m excited to compete in both XC and enduro races.
